My first experience with Bondi Chai

It was my year end engineering break, whenI along with my family had a pleasure of enjoying my vacations at my aunt’s place in Singapore. I enjoyed being there after a long time and it turned out to be a kind of great reunion with my cousins.

A day after my visit to Singapore, my cousin James took me out for some side scenes and shopping. After travelling around the city since the morning, I was fully tired and wanted some kind of refreshment. So I asked James if there was any café nearby where we can have some tea and get relaxed.

James then took me to a coffee shop somewhere near the shopping mall and ordered two cup of tea with some sandwiches. After few minutes, when the waiter arrived with our order, I without wasting a second lifted my cup of tea and took a sip. Just after having the first few sips, that tiring afternoon of mine turned into a completely relaxing one. At that moment although I did not even have a slightest idea about the tea I was having but still I was enjoying this unique drink.

I then turned towards James who was busy having his sandwiches and asked him about the tea. He said that its ‘Bondi Chai’, 100% owned and manufactured by Australia which has now captured the markets of Singapore.

This delicious chai latte of Australia is a kind of pre mixture which is combined with some black tea extracts, sugar, comfort spices along with the sweet taste of honey. It is a Gold Standard chai of Australia which has an addictive taste. Due to its premium quality, brand’s positioning and of course superb taste, Bondi Chai has become so famous in Singapore that it has turned out to be the first choice for various consumers and café owners all over the country.

Bondichai

This delicious Bondi Chai is made of all natural ingredients and having a sip of this chai can completely stimulates your body, mind and soul, thus making you completely relaxed.

In terms of flavour, nothing can beat the unique flavour of Bondi chai which is completely smooth and silky with some creamy taste. It is available in two varieties:–

•    Vanilla Honey

•    Club Cinnamon.

Both the varieties of chai are exotic in taste which poses some comforting as well as traditional flavours and contains mixture of some spices along with the sweet taste of honey. Both the types are available in retail packs and it is totally glutten free.

After getting so much knowledge about this tea latte from James and enjoying its every sip, I considered myself so lucky thinking that inspite being a resident of Australia I never had a chance to have this drink and that day Singapore gave me this opportunity. Thus my journey towards Bondi Chai began and I included in my regular routine.

Chai Latte the future Drink of Singapore

Why does Tea Latte will become a preferred drink to the people of Singapore?

Well the answer is simple.

Chai or Tea Latte has its own benefits over other drinks which includes but are not limited to these

1.
Aerated drinks are not good for health, and are being avoided by many.

2.    Coffee which again has a high caffeine levels is not any better.

3.    And not many likes the warm water tea bag drinks which comes in different variants like

a.    Green tea

b.    Black tea

c.    Lemon Tea

d.    White Tea and so on.

4.    Fresh juices and bottled juices may be great for health but are not substitute to coffee lovers or people who love warm drinks especially when the temperature goes down.

Thus the Tea emerges out as a winner which is warm, refreshing and is not as high in caffeine as coffee. To your surprise a typical cup of Coffee has as much as 3 to 5 times caffeine as compared to a cup of tea, and this clears the point.

Break those myths related to Tea

A myth is a religion in which no one any longer believes.

The sooner you get out of a myth the better it is. Surely there were many myths doing rounds related to tea or chai as they call it. Be it in any form masala chai, vanilla chai, ginger tea, green tea, or black tea etc there is a myth available for all.

Some of the most common myths doing rounds are

1.    Adding milk to tea reduces its quality and health quotient: - This is not true as shared in several researches, and it would be wrong to say that if nothing is added to tea, it will be the healthiest of all.

However researchers have found that adding milk or honey to your tea makes you more efficient at work.

2.    Drinking Green Tea will make you Skinny: - No, drinking green tea although has its own benefits over drinking milked tea, but it won’t make you skinny unless you are only on green tea diet.

3.    Herbal Tea is the real tea:- No, although tea comes in different aromas and flavours but that is more to do about the process involved after plucking the tea leaves. The tea plant remains the same which is Camellia Sinensis, and the change in flavour etc depends on how it is processes and under what climatic conditions it’s grown. Herbal tea on the other hand is being made from flower, leave and other variations as well.

4.    Tea doesn’t have an expiry date: - It’s not true, tea start losing its antioxidants after 5 to 6 months and that’s its shelf life.

5.    Caffeine is more in Black Tea as compared to Green Tea: - IT’S WRONG. Again the theory remains the same, tea come in from the same leaves, and it’s only the processing which differs and which decides whether it’s going to be Black Tea or Green Tea.

6.    Tea Causes Stroke: - Absolutely wrong, in fact tea helps you reduce chances of heart stroke and its antioxidant agent helps you fight Heart diseases. But it only helps and doesn’t guarantees, so keep a check on your heart.

Apart from these myths which must be cleared by now, Tea has many benefits which are helpful to us. Some of those are:-

1.    Tea helps reduce the risk of dementia: - Drinking tea helps you fight dementia, and allows you to stay sharp, focused, enhances memory and attention span.

2.    Tea acts as a medicine: - Especially in rainy and winters season, Tea helps as an anti allergic and helps prevent cough, cold and sour throat. Apart from this Tea also helps building your immune system.

3.    Tea helps in lowering Cholesterol levels: - Tea also helps you reduce your cholesterol levels, although Green Tea is a winner among other variants here.

4.    Despite Caffeine it hydrates your body

5.    It gives you less caffeine over coffee

I am sure after reading these points you can clear the air about your myths related to tea.

Bondi chai brings to you, Australia’s award winning Chai Latte premix powder and now the same is available in Singapore. This Chai latte in Singapore is available in two flavours Vanilla Honey and Club cinnamon, and is best served with milk; you can also use soya milk with it.

Trying Bondichai for a change

Some of us don’t like things to change. We like what is constant. So when health experts say no caffeine and point out that both coffee and tea have it, it is quite discouraging. Green tea and white tea aren’t everyone’s favourite. We like our flavours with milk and sugar, don’t we? Not to worry. Bondichai has the perfect solution with its premix premium chai latte. Two fold flavours with all the nutritional benefits you can ask for. Also, we can show you a number of ways you can enjoy Bondichai’s premixes. Just read on!

Premium chai latte

Vanilla flavoured and the big cinnamon flavoured chai are the hallmark of Bondichai. They have been successful in Australia; who is stopping them from being successful here in the South of Asia? One thing you must know is that Bondichai is no ordinary black chai. Sure it has black tea extract but its contents have been produced in Australia keeping in mind the nutrition we are all looking for. So, there isn’t the same level of caffeine in normal black tea. Neither is there any trans-fatty acid nor any gluten. In fact, there is honey to replace sugar.

The different flavours

The vanilla flavour is a bit mellow and the cinnamon is quite strong. You can taste both to see which fits you the best. But we have seen that those who are transitioning from coffee or usually have very bitter tea, prefer the cinnamon flavoured premium chai latte. I like the vanilla myself. There seems to be a nice natural sweetness to it. If I drink it with skim milk, there is almost no fat in it which gives me the liberty to have as many as I want in a day.

Premium chai latte

Experimenting with Bondichai
A hot beverage in the winter is fine but I would like to have something cold in the summer. Bondichai is a premix powder so we can use it anyhow and it works instantly. What caught my eye is the Bondichai frappe. All you have to do is dissolve Bondchai latte powder in a little hot water. Remember to be generous with the quantity; three big teaspoons will be yummy. Now, blend ice so it’s crushed. Add the dissolved latte with some milk and continue to blend. Your perfect summer drink is ready. If you like ice creams better, I’d suggest that after you dissolve the chai powder, add very cold milk in a glass and stir them well. Now, you can add some ice and a big scoop of ice cream of your choice. You can also top it with whipped cream and dust it with Bondichai. I am sure I have inspired you to try more with Bondichai haven’t I?

The perfect beverage

Bondichai brings the perfect beverage to Singapore. For those of you, who are looking for more than a beverage, try some of the recipes Bondichai has on its site or simple create your own. With more nutritional benefits, Bondichai is the perfect replacement for your everyday beverage. Try one and share your experience!

The way we see it!

We notice things; we make notes, analyze it and study. Researchers do all this, just to do one thing: predict. No one likes to be caught off guard. To know for sure what is happening is power in our hands. This is why we try to find out trends in the market to grow in any industry. When we talk of chai, it is not just a beverage but a profit making industry.

Chai tea latte brews

It is not that coffee is no longer brewing but I have realized that more people are buying tea. A good cup of chai is what they are asking for. Markets are selling more chai than ever before. With a stable and growing market, chai is a good bet. I would say that the current trend is premium chai lattes. The fact that it is the beverage beating coffee is worth talking about, don’t you think?

Choices I make

I like cinnamon tea. It is the best form of chai tea latte in my personal opinion. And with that, I managed to find one readymade chai latte mix, BondiChai’s Club cinnamon that offers a unique and tantalizing aroma and flavour. Turns out, more and more people prefer spiced chai. Cinnamon and vanilla are big favourites. Sweet, aromatic, tasty and spicy tea lattes have probably gained the most popularity amongst tea flavours, I must add. It is so in most countries.

chai tea latte

The exception would be UK where there is no love for spiced tea. The traditional black and green chai are what is in the market- about 93 percent for black and a small but growing 7 percent for green. By the way, green chai has made quite the leap this year with more and more people choosing this mellow, auromatic drink. Green chai skips the oxidation process and therefore is further less in caffeine than black chai.

Premix chai latte powder:

With many new diseases arising, everyone thinks it is a good idea to be organic. They are not wrong. Tea, scientists say increases immunity. Why not get the best out of it? Adding natural spices to the existing tea gives it a new turn and takes it to a new level of flavour. But the real concern is the time and work involved in preparing.  This fast paced world demands a lot more patience to prepare, the answer to all these is the premix chai latte powders that are available in the market. Bondi Chai is one such leading readymade chai latte powder that is Australian owned and is made from the premium ingredients available. If this is the way to get better, let us just do it.

I find Chai tea latte , one of the most fragrant and soothing beverages I can find. It is hydrating and healing. If I can find instant tea, I think I like it better than instant coffee. So a demand for instant tea is not bad at all. Countries in Europe are yet to adapt this new beverage into their lifestyles. They don’t know what they are missing! Singapore is already in with Bondi Chai marketed there.

What does it taste like?

Everybody has had a chai tea latte, so to speak. But when you ask them what it tastes like, there are different opinions. Spiced, mellow, sweet, bitter, and fruity and so on. You can wonder if you are talking about the same beverage. The answer is yes and no. Yes, chai is made from basically the same ingredients but if you ask me, a good cup of chai latte differs even if I move from one city to another. You may wonder why that is. So, read on.

Chai tasting

I have had my fair share of chai and I can say that there is no universal taste to chai even when they are in the same colour. So you can imagine the difference in taste of different coloured chai. Where I come from, we drink black chai. This chai is withered and is highly processed. It has a dark red sort of colour to it when brewed. It is usually had with a bit of milk or cream and has an auromatic sweet taste to it. It is also the most popularly tasted chai. Black chai without milk is bitter and has a very strong taste and very few people prefer it. I am not one of them. Masala chai is also a variance of black chai which has added spices and depending on the spice you add, you may say that the chai is spicy or sweet or mellow or anything else.

Sipping green chai

I have taken time to taste two kinds of green chai as well. It is becoming popular these days amongst the health conscious. Other than its very healthy effects, green chai can be mildly bitter to a first timer. It is usually sold in flavours of honey or lemon or ginger. As you can see, these ingredients each have a somewhat sweet taste to it to counteract the bitterness. Green chai is never drunk with milk or cream. Once you start on it, it kind of grows on you.

In foreign lands

Science has shown us that chai tastes different because of where it is grown and how it is processed. Like I said earlier, the black chai is processed the most and the white chai is almost not processed at all. And, that causes the variance in the taste from strong to bland. Where it is grown matters because of climate and soil. For example, India’s tea growing estates survive on very different environments compared to China or Kenya or Srilanka. You see the difference? I have had the opportunity to taste Kenyan and Chinese tea before. While Chinese tea can be smoky, Kenyan tea tastes quite fruity and sweet.

While we are at it

There is no best tasting tea or worst tasting tea. As far as I know, you flow with what works best for you. Chai tea latte is safer if you are that creative one and you can also find many premix chai lattes that can fill your senses. Bondichai is one of that premium grade chai latte mixes that I happened to have during my stay in Australia, milk soluble and the exotic taste and aroma is sure to mesmerize you, and it’s now available in Singapore as well. Get lost in an aromatic world with this premix chai latte that is more than a café drink.
